Showtime Puts Full Episodes Up On YouTube

Pay TV channel Showtime has made available full-length
episodes of the season premieres of its two biggest hits,
“Dexter” and “Homeland.” Showtime, which is trying to generate
buzz and lure in new subscribers, has taken a page from the TV
networks’ playbook: last year, Fox debuted online Zooey
Deschanel’s “New Girl” before it was aired on TV, and this
year Fox debuted “The Mindy Project” online before its TV
premiere. In January, NBC debuted “Smash” online, and again
this fall with “The New Normal” and “Revolution.” HBO also put
up online the premiere of its latest show, “The Newsroom,” for
non-subscribers to watch and get hooked on.
