HBO Nordic Gets Starz Content

HBO’s standalone service, HBO Nordic, has signed a content
deal with Starz to distribute movies and original shows to
subscribers in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. HBO Nordic
will offer titles such as “Spartacus,” “Magic City,” “Party
Down,” “Jersey Shore Shark Attack,” “Masters of Horror,” and
“Painkiller Jane.” Some of that content will be available
exclusively on the subscription-based OTT service, and some
will be distributed through the pay TV channel. HBO launched
its subscription OTT service in the region just a few months
before Netflix had planned its own launch there, while last
year Starz opted out of its deal with the company.
