TabletTV to Bundle OTT Apps with Antenna TV

Motive Television’s mobile over-the-air TV service, TabletTV, will offer a selection of OTT apps with its linear TV.

TabletTV uses an antenna/tuner to capture local broadcast TV signals, and transmits them wirelessly to tablets via an app. The service has launched in the UK and is in beta testing in San Francisco, California, in the States.

TabletTV plans to beta test the new service, which will deliver online video services to tablets, this summer and plans to rollout the new feature in the autumn. In the UK, TabletTV will offer BBC’s iPlayer, ITV Player, Channel 4 All4, STV Player, BT Sport, Netflix and YouTube. In the US, the company said a similar selection of OTT channels will become available, but didn’t name any apps.

“The addition of Internet catch-up TV and on-demand channels will expand and enhance the value of TabletTV to the user and make Motive’s apps unique in the industry,” said Leonard Fertig, CEO of Motive.
