Clicker Media, developer of a Web video program guide that currently covers 600,000 episodes on 10,000 TV shows, has announced a new expansion for its programming guide that was developed with UCLA. The new catalog for UCLA will include Clicker’s existing database as well as original videos — such as lectures and symposiums — from the university itself. Clicker is competing against some large names in the field, but it shows a market for these Web guides that previously didn’t exist for their TV counterparts. Guides can now be expanded to cover additional content and also be narrowed by the same coin. The space will eventually support a fully customizable and personalized guide that can be developed by the user. The recommendation engine here will still be the trickiest part. |
