The Brazilian government has proposed a government-run investment group whose aim is to raise $10.7 billion to build broadband networks in Brazil. It’ll be named InfoBrasi.

The country’s goal is to make broadband available to about 90 million Brazilians.

Brazilian president Luis Inacio Lula da Silva has not yet approved the proposal.
