Sagemcom May Have Selected Qualcomm Atheros’ 11ac Chips

Chipmakers don’t announce wins, except perhaps for Intel,
which is loudly touting every win it gets for smartphones and
tablets, so we don’t know how many wins Qualcomm Atheros (QCA)
has for its 11ac chips. As yet unconfirmed reports are that
France-based Sagemcom has selected QCA’s 802.11ac chips for a
dual-band, dual concurrent family of gateways it’s developing
for European telcos. We expect to learn about more QCA wins
for its 11ac chips between now and CES in January — gateways,
STBs, tablets and smartphones.
